Beginner / Entry Level Selection Process

1. Determine if the trumpet is a suitable instrument for the student.
   
2. Determine which of the “entry level” (beginning) trumpet packages are best suited to the student
3. Instruct the student in the following:
   
• Correct mouth position/embrouchure and sound production (leads to No.4)
• Correct use of the tongue
• Playing position
• Your first notes
• How to practice
• Care and maintenance of the new trumpet
4. Determine which of the student mouthpieces are best suited to the student
   
5. Explain the inclusion of a complimentary cleaning of the trumpet after 6 months of use
